What We Grow
Below is a full list of the ornamental grasses we plan to stock at some point this season. Our day-to-day inventory changes based on availability and on the seasons, yet no matter when you drop by, you’ll find grasses to love that can be taken home and planted that day.
- Natives predate European settlement and are adapted to Colorado’s climate, soil, and hydrology.
- Nativars are cultivars of native species, selected and bred for traits like improved drought tolerance or brighter flowers.
- Native-adjacent varieties aren’t strictly native to the Eastern Plains or Front Range, but they are native to similar nearby ecosystems, i.e. other semi-arid, high-altitude prairie environments in neighboring states.
- Plant Select varieties were cultivated by the CSU Plant Select program to be resilient, sustainable, and waterwise plants for the arid high plains and intermountain region.
In all cases, the varieties listed below will thrive in a Colorado garden while benefiting the local ecosystem.

We have five pop-up garden centers in the greater Denver area, open Monday to Saturday from 9am–6pm and on Sunday from 10am–5pm. In severe weather, please call to verify we are open as we may close for safety reasons.
